City of Cambridge May Revoke T.T. the Bear's Liquor License

Last summer, we reported that a now-closed Cambridge nightclub was issued a violation due to nonpayment of its alcohol licensing fee. Now we have learned that the city could be getting ready to take action.

According to a License Commission Hearing Agenda page, the city will be looking at canceling the liquor license for T.T. the Bear's Place, with the notice referring to laws that say if a business is no longer in operation, the license can be canceled/revoked. (The hearing takes place on Wednesday, January 11.)

T.T. the Bear's closed its doors for good in July of 2015 after being in business for nearly 30 years; since its closure, there has been talk of Joseph and Nabil Sater of the adjacent Middle East nightclub taking over the space and opening a new club called Sonia's. [ED NOTE: Sonia's is now open.]

The address for the old T.T. the Bear's space is 10 Brookline Street, Cambridge, MA, 02139.

[January 13 update: Wicked Local Cambridge is reporting that the city has given Bonney Bouley (the owner of T.T. the Bear's) three months to find a buyer for the liquor license, at which point the license would be canceled.]

[May 22 update: A new license agenda page indicates that the city of Cambridge is expected to look into cancelling the license for T.T. the Bear's on Wednesday, May 24 because of "non-use."]
