Owners of Il Casale, Restaurant dante Opening The Wellington in Belmont

The family behind three restaurants in Cambridge, Lexington, and Belmont is opening a new dining spot, with this one also being in Belmont.

The Belmont Citizen-Herald is reporting that the DeMagistris brothers are planning to open a new restaurant in Belmont Center in a section of the former Macy's space on Leonard Street. The article says that the 3,500-square-foot eatery, which would be across the street from the DeMagistris's Il Casale, is expected to open in the fall.

In addition to Il Casale and the upcoming dining spot in Belmont Center, Dante, Damian, and Filippo DeMagistris are also behind Il Casale in Lexington Center and Restaurant dante in East Cambridge.

The address for this new restaurant from the DeMagistris brothers will be 75 Leonard Street, Belmont, MA, 02478.

[July 12 update: A new article from the Belmont Citizen-Herald states that the new restaurant from the DeMagistris brothers will be a farm-to-table spot focusing on reasonably-priced American fare, and that the place is currently asking the town to waive a parking requirement of 67 parking spaces.]

[January 3, 2018 update: A message and picture sent by Leah Klein of City Living Boston indicates that the new restaurant from the DeMagistris brothers will be called The Wellington, and that it could be opening this spring or summer.]

[June 8, 2018 update: The Tables section of The Boston Globe states that The Wellington opens next week.]

[June 11, 2018 update: Boston Magazine mentions that The Wellington officially opens tonight and that its menu features American fare and comfort food such as fried clams, avocado toast, tater tot poutine, burgers, roast chicken, miso-roasted salmon, and strawberry shortcake, with the beer list including options from Fiddlehead, Night Shift, Oxbow, and more.]
