Caramel French Patisserie in Salem to Expand to Somerville's Davis Square

A French pastry shop on the North Shore is opening a new location closer to Boston, and this one will move into a space that previously had nothing to do with food.

Cambridge Day is reporting that Caramel French Patisserie in Salem is looking to take over a former pawn shop space in the Davis Square section of Somerville, with a Facebook post from the place saying "We are still in beginning stages of setting up the new location, so we do not have an opening date, but as soon as we do, we will let you know..." Once the new shop opens on Elm Street, expect to see a variety of macarons and possibly such items as baguettes and croissants.

The original location of Caramel French Patisserie, which is on Essex Street in the downtown section of Salem, first opened its doors in 2015.

The address for this new pastry shop in Davis Square is: Caramel French Patisserie, 233 Elm Street, Somerville, MA, 02144. The website for the original location can be found at http://caramelpatisserie.com/

[September 28 update: Boston Magazine mentions that Caramel French Patisserie soft-opens in Davis Square this Saturday (September 30), and that food items will be made in Salem and brought down to the Somerville shop each day.]
