Boston Magazine is reporting that Andrew Brady and Sara Markey of Company Picnic are planning to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant called Field & Vine in the space in Union Square where Journeyman was, and they have launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for the place. The Kickstarter page says that the new eatery will be a neighborhood spot with workshops and community events being held within the space, while its mission is to "create a dining experience committed to the natural world." The page mentions that the foods offered will be scratch-made using local, seasonal ingredients, and that the wines will be "chosen to mimic that same philosophy, they are created by producers who are dedicated to allowing their land to fully express itself through the grapes."
Company Picnic first started out about two years ago and has set up shop at such places as Night Shift Brewing in Everett and the now-closed Study in Cambridge's Kendall Square, while also selling products at farmers' markets in the local area, according to Boston Magazine.
Journeyman shut its doors on June 3 after being in business for seven years.
The address for this new restaurant in Union Square is: Field & Vine, 9 Sanborn Court, Somerville, MA, 02143.
