Black & Blue Steak and Crab Is Opening in Burlington

by Marc Hurwitz

It looks like another Rochester-based business is expanding to Boston, with this one being a high-end fine dining concept with three locations in Upstate New York.

According to a job post within the site, Black & Blue Steak and Crab is planning to open in Burlington, moving into a space in The District, a development next to the Burlington Mall that is also home to Island Creek Oyster Bar, Tuscan Kitchen, Pressed Cafe, Tavern in the Square, and Rebecca's Cafe. Based on the offerings at the other locations in Rochester, Amherst (a suburb of Buffalo), and Albany, the new location of the eatery could have such options as tuna tartare, pork belly, crab and lobster fondue, wagyu meatballs, Kansas City bone-in strip, king crab legs, lobster tail, rack of lamb, and a steak sandwich.

Black & Blue Steak and Crab is the flagship restaurant of the Two For Seven Restaurant Group, which is headquartered in the Rochester suburb of Pittsford; this is one of at least three companies to expand from Rochester to Boston of late, including Wegmans Food Markets and Abbott's Frozen Custard.
