It looks like the days could be numbered for a waterfront restaurant and bar, as plans for a residential tower have taken a big step forward.
According to an article in The Boston Herald, Cronin Holdings has reached a settlement with the Conservation Law Foundation on plans to build a 22-story building by Seaport Boulevard and Pier Four Boulevard where the Whiskey Priest currently resides, with Cronin agreeing to set up a fund for a new public park on the waterfront park and give annual funding for disadvantaged children in the city in order for them to experience the area. In return, the Conservation Law Foundation will suspend its appeal of the demolition of the building housing Whiskey Priest and the space where Atlantic Beer Garden had been, while also suspending its appeal of the approval of an amended municipal harbor plan for project.
The Whiskey Priest and Atlantic Beer Garden both opened approximately 10 years ago, taking over the former Seaport Bar and Grille/Eastern Pier II space.
