It looks like a trio of Boston-area bakery-cafes is in expansion mode again, with a new location apparently being planned for an area that should make it popular with commuters and sports fans.
According to a source, Swissbakers is planning to open at the Avalon North Station residential development, which is located at 1 Nashua Street next to North Station and TD Garden. Our source indicates that the proposed spot would have a bit less than 1,300 feet of space, and that a long-term lease appears to be in the works. It is not known exactly where in the building the new Swissbakers would be; currently, the structure is home to another dining spot--a location of Tasty Burger, which opened there last month.
Other locations of Swissbakers--which offers soups, salads, sandwiches, and baked goods with Swiss influences--can be found in Reading, Allston, and the Boston Public Market, along with various farmers markets in the region. (Another brick-and-mortar location will open at The Smith Center in Cambridge's Harvard Square at some point as well.)
The website for Swissbakers is at https://www.swissbakers.com/
