Humaari to Take Over Wink and Nod Space in Boston's South End; Pareja Wraps Up March 17

by Marc Hurwitz

A new Mediterranean spot is moving into a temporary home in Boston's South End, taking over the space where a Spanish eatery had been for the past several months, and a well-known name is behind the upcoming place.

According to both a press release and an article in Boston Magazine, Humaari is opening within the Wink & Nod space on Appleton Street on Monday, March 19, replacing Pareja, which will be saying farewell on Saturday, March 17. The new Mediterranean eatery will be run by Louis DiBiccari, who ran Tavern Road in Fort Point with his brother Michael until closing the restaurant last summer. Humaari will be a fast-casual spot that focuses on house-made hummus and pita along with tahini, crudo, charcuterie, and more, while cocktails will be offered as well via Wink & Nod's beverage director Michael Boughton. Humaari will be open Monday through Saturday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM (drinks until 2:00 AM), with the spot remaining within the Wink & Nod space for the next six months.

Pareja, which is headed up by Aaron Lhamon, has been one of several spots at Wink & Nod, with a few others being Pelekasis, Gita, Akinto, and Little Owl Tavern. (The website for Wink & Nod can be found at http://winkandnod.com/)
