Bruno's Brewery Planning to Open in Dorchester

by Marc Hurwitz

Another new brewery is being planned for Boston, and this one may be coming to a little peninsula along the Neponset River.

According to a licensing board hearing page within the City of Boston website, Bruno's Brewery is seeking a Farmer Brewery Pouring License to operate in the Port Norfolk section of Dorchester, with the Ericsson Street address indicating that it will be opening next to Boston Winery. An earlier post on massbrewbros.com indicates that Ralph and Vito Bruno of Boston Winery are actually behind the brewery, which plans to have two rooms and an outdoor patio.

The Port Norfolk peninsula, which is basically cut off from the rest of Dorchester (and Boston) by the Southeast Expressway, is also home to Boston Harbor Distillery and Venezia Restaurant.

The address for the upcoming Bruno's Brewery is 24 Ericsson Street, Dorchester, MA, 02122.

[April 24 update: Eater Boston states that Bruno's Brewery hopes to open this fall, and that it will initially offer seven or eight beers only at the Dorchester facility, though the owners may look at getting involved in distribution of the beers at some point. The post also says that the business will be able to use the Boston Winery space next door for events once it opens, with room there for up to 120 people.]
