Little Sheep Hot Pot to Open in Chinatown

by Marc Hurwitz

A chain of Mongolian restaurants is opening its first location in New England, and it will be located right in the heart of downtown Boston.

Universal Hub confirms what a source told us last month, that Little Sheep Hot Pot is opening on Washington Street along the western edge of Chinatown. Based on its other locations, expect to see tabletop hot pot options at the upcoming place, including a variety of broth, meat, seafood, noodle, and vegetable options along with herbs and spices.

Currently, the closest locations of Little Sheep Hot Pot can be found in Manhattan and the Flushing sections of Queens in New York.

The address for this upcoming Mongolian restaurant in Chinatown is: Little Sheep Hot Pot, 693 Washington Street, Boston, MA, 02111. The website for the chain can be found at

[May 9 update: A licensing board hearing page indicates that the city is expected to look into the restaurant's request for a beer and wine license next week, though the exact name of the place may be in question, as the DBA listed is Happy Lamb Hot Pot rather than Little Sheep Hot Pot.]
