[Ed note: This article was updated on May 9 and October 29 to reflect new information on exactly which restaurant is opening in the space.]
It looks like a chain of hot pot restaurants is opening a location in the heart of downtown Boston.
Universal Hub confirms what a source told us last month, that the group behind Little Sheep Hot Pot will open a restaurant on Washington Street along the western edge of Chinatown. Based on its other locations, expect to see tabletop hot pot options at the upcoming place, including a variety of broth, meat, seafood, noodle, and vegetable options along with herbs and spices.
Currently, the closest locations of Little Sheep Hot Pot can be found in Manhattan and the Flushing sections of Queens in New York.
The address for this upcoming hot pot restaurant in Chinatown is 693 Washington Street, Boston, MA, 02111. The website for the chain can be found at https://www.littlesheephotpot.com/
[May 9 update: A licensing board hearing page indicates that the city is expected to look into the restaurant's request for a beer and wine license next week, though it looks like this will be a location of Happy Lamb Hot Pot, which is connected to Little Sheep Hot Pot and currently has a location in Cambridge's Central Square.]
[October 29 update: A tweet from @FortPointer indicates that Happy Lamb Hot Pot is now open in Chinatown.]
