A North Shore pizzeria that has been around for a long time is closing its doors, now it looks like another pizzeria will be replacing it.
According to an article from the Patch, Maria's Pizza in Beverly is shutting down on October 13, with a note on the door of the Cabot Street spot announcing the closure and saying "We thank you all for your patronage and friendship these past 39 years. It has been our pleasure to serve you and you will be missed." No reason has been given for the closing of Maria's as of yet, so stay tuned for any updates that might come in.
Maria's, which first opened in 1979, offers pizza, calzones, subs, sandwiches, and a variety of dinner items.
The address for Maria's Pizza is 273 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA, 01915. Its website can be found at https://mariaspizzabeverly.weebly.com/
[October 4 update: According to a source (and confirmed by a Facebook post), Maria's will be replaced by a second location of Amazing Pizza, whose original shop can be found on Webb Street in Salem.]
[February 15, 2019 update: A Facebook post indicates that Amazing Pizza has not yet opened in Beverly, with the note saying that "we look forward to opening our second location in Beverly, we will keep you posted on our opening date!"]
[October 23, 2019 update: The Beverly location of Amazing Pizza has not yet opened, though a Facebook post mentions that they are now looking for investors via MainVest to help them open the shop.]
