A few months ago, we reported that a popular Greek restaurant was planning to close around the end of the year to make way for a dispensary. Now we have learned that this apparently will not be the case after all.
According to a Facebook post from the place, Brothers Kouzina will not be leaving its space on Route 1 in Peabody, with the note thanking people for their support. No details have been given on why plans for a medical marijuana dispensary to replace it fell through; we had first learned about that proposal in July, and at that time it looked like the restaurant might close at the end of the month and that the owners were looking to open in another space.
Brothers Kouzina first opened in 2006, offering customers mostly a mix of Greek and American dishes including souvlaki, stuffed grape leaves, grilled octopus, spinach pie, gyros, broiled scallops, burgers, and more.
The address for Brothers Kouzina is 25 Newbury Street (Route 1), Peabody, MA, 01960.
Thanks to multiple sources for bringing this to our attention.
