A bit more than a year ago, we reported that a local chef and restaurateur was planning to open a pair of cafes along with a beer hall. Now we have learned that the second of the two locations of the cafe has opened, and it also has a connection to a popular cafe that recently closed.
An Instagram post from Steve "Nookie" Postal indicates that Revival Cafe & Kitchen is now open in the Davis Square section of Somerville, joining an already-open location in the Alewife area of Cambridge. Eater Boston mentions that the new Elm Street spot offers breakfast and lunch items, with the menu including such options as egg sandwiches, biscuit sandwiches, quiche, soups, salads, lunch sandwiches including tuna, turkey, and pastrami, pretzels, cakes, and more. Postal, who is also the chef/owner of Commonwealth in Kendall Square, and Liza Shirazi of the now-closed Crema Cafe in Harvard Square are both behind Revival Cafe & Kitchen, and Shirazi had said earlier that "Crema will live on in many ways through Revival."
Postal and Shirazi are also working on opening Mothership, a beer hall that will be in the same Cambridge Park Drive office building as the first location of Revival.
The address for the new location of Revival in Davis Square is 197 Elm Street, Somerville, MA, 02144. The website for Revival can be found at https://www.revivalcafeandkitchen.com/
