A Somerville restaurant has morphed into a new dining spot--and with it, a once-familiar name has returned to the local area.
According to a post within the Davis Square Facebook group page, Meju Korean Kitchen & Bar in Davis Square is now Jae's Cafe, with an earlier post indicating that this is a rebranding, as the people behind the long-closed Jae's restaurants had apparently purchased Meju last year. Jae's Cafe disappeared from the local landscape in 2015 with the closing of its location in Boston's South End; the group of Asian fusion restaurants had also once included outlets in the Theatre District, Back Bay, Brookline, Cambridge, Chestnut Hill, and North Adams as well.
.
Meju first opened in early 2015, taking over the space where a location of McDonald's had once been.
The address for Jae's Cafe (and the former Meju) is 243 Elm Street, Somerville, MA, 02144.
