A suburban seafood spot is getting ready to shut down after nearly 40 years in business.
According to an article in Wicked Local, Quarterdeck Seafoods in Maynard is closing its doors on March 30, with owner Chris Basile continuing to do wholesale and events while also focusing on the Boston Fisheries Foundation--which he founded--and the Boston Seafood Festival, which he also helped start. Basile and his brothers opened the Quarterdeck in 1981, with the Main Street space eventually going from a seafood market and takeout spot to becoming both a full-service restaurant and a market; he took it over from his brothers in 1999 and sold off the restaurant section in 2008, at which point it went back to being a market.
The address for Quarterdeck Seafoods is 175 Main Street, Maynard, MA, 01754.
