Insomnia Cookies Plans to Open in Boston's Downtown Crossing

It looks like a chain of late-night cookie delivery shops may be opening its third Boston-area location, and this one would be located right in the heart of the city.

According to a licensing board hearing page within the city's website, Insomnia Cookies is planning to open on Bromfield Street in the Downtown Crossing area, with the shop including a counter area and kitchen and having proposed hours of 9:00 AM to 3:00 AM. If approved and the shop does open, it will join others by Boston University and in Cambridge's Harvard Square.

Insomnia Cookies is known for its delivery of cookies to the doors of college students and others as well as its late-night retail shops; the New York-based business started out in the dorm room of founder Seth Berkowitz at the University of Pennsylvania back in 2003.

The address for the proposed Insomnia Cookies in Downtown Crossing is 61 Bromfield Street,. Boston, MA, 02108. The website for the chain can be found at https://insomniacookies.com/

[June 7 update: A post from Universal Hub indicates that Insomnia Cookies has gotten approval from the Boston Licensing Board to open in Downtown Crossing--and it has also gotten approval to stay open until 3:00 AM, though its last orders of the night have to be placed by 2:45 AM.]
