An offbeat group of ice cream shops based in New York City will be making its way to the Boston area, opening an outlet in a development a few miles west of the city.
According to an article from Eater Boston, OddFellows Ice Cream Co. is planning to open at The Street Chestnut Hill, moving into a space that is under Legal Sea Foods. The post indicates that the shop will offer an array of ice cream flavors--including such unusual options as black pepper fig and chorizo caramel swirl--and beer and wine will also be available along with ice cream dishes using beer and wine, while banana splits, ice cream sodas, milkshakes, sundaes, and more will be served as well. If all goes as planned, the Chestnut Hill location of OddFellows will open this summer.
OddFellows first started out in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn in 2013 and has since expanded to three other locations in Brooklyn's Dumbo neighborhood and Manhattan's East Village and NoLita. (A fifth NYC location is also on its way to the Bushwick section of Brooklyn.)

[August 5 update: Eater Boston states that OddFellows plans to open on Friday, August 9, though beer, wine, and alcohol-based treats will not be available until this fall.]
