Kirkland Tap & Trotter in Somerville Is Closing

A James Beard Award winning chef and restaurateur is closing one of his dining spots.

According to multiple sources, including several within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, Kirkland Tap & Trotter in Somerville is shutting down, with a Facebook post from the place saying that "It's been six wonderful years in Somerville but, sadly, Saturday will be our last service here at 425 Washington St. Come by one last time for a beer or a really good half grilled chicken. We'll be here tonight and tomorrow bringing joy." No specific reason has been given for the closure of the Washington Street space as of yet, though Boston Magazine says that it is unrelated to the recent opening of Craigie Burger at Time Out Market in Boston's Fenway neighborhood. Kirkland Tap & Trotter,  Craigie Burger, and Craigie on Main in Cambridge are all owned by Tony Maws, with Kirkland Tap & Trotter opening in 2013.

As soon as we find out more about why Kirkland Tap & Trotter might be closing, we will post an update here.

The address for Kirkland Tap & Trotter is 425 Washington Street, Somerville, MA, 02143.
