A new restaurant that could focus at least in part on a beloved food item is on its way to a suburban space that had previously been home to an offbeat street-food spot.
According to a Facebook post from Roadworthy, Small Batch Cafe is opening in Dedham, taking over the old Roadworthy space on Washington Street. The post mentions that the people behind the upcoming eatery are "bacon masters" and indicating that the place will be open for breakfast and lunch, while a Wicked Local article states that the owners began selling hand-cured bacon at the Dedham Farmers Market two years ago and offering sandwiches a year later. No opening date for Small Batch Cafe has been given as of yet, so keep checking back for updates.
Roadworthy closed in February after being in business for approximately two years; the restaurant called itself "the outlandish destination for fun and delicious foods....Inspired by today's wacky food trucks."
The address for this new cafe in Dedham is: Small Batch Cafe, 125 Washington Street, Dedham, MA, 02026.
[July 16 update: A post within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page indicates that Small Batch Cafe is now open, and that it features such items as egg sandwiches, biscuits, a bacon and egg salad, BLTs, macaroni and cheese, Boston baked beans, and fried corn with bacon drippings.]
