Mystic Brewery in Chelsea Is Closing Down

One of the first of the "new" batch of local breweries in the Greater Boston area is calling it a day.

According to a Facebook post from the business, Mystic Brewery in Chelsea is closing its doors, saying that it has "decided to discontinue brewing operations and intends to wind things down over the next few weeks" while saying that it will be "releasing some final batches, special beers, and selling off our beer archive as well as selling off all of our barrels to the public." The note ends by saying that "we are proud of what we accomplished and know in our hearts that the impact of Mystic will remain long after the doors are closed."

Mystic Brewery was established in 2011, with its taproom opening a couple of years later within its Williams Street space. In February of 2018, it appeared that the brewery may relocate to a new, larger facility on Charles Street in Malden, but those plans ultimately fell through.

The address for Mystic Brewery is 174 Williams Street, Chelsea, MA, 02150. Its website can be found at https://www.mystic-brewery.com

[October 16 update: An Instagram post from the place indicates that Mystic Brewery will close its taproom after business hours on Saturday, October 19.]
