Blue Yama Is Opening in the Former Asahi Space in Brighton

A new restaurant that may be focusing on lobster appears to be coming to Brighton, taking over the space where a Japanese spot had been until it moved to Brookline.

According to a source, a sign has been posted at the former Asahi site on Market Street in Brighton Center, with the sign seeming to show a picture of a lobster roll and another lobster-based dish and saying "homestyle lobster" within the Blue Yama logo, which includes a cartoon lobster. A public notice within the City of Boston website includes a hearing that took place late last month in which Blue Yama, LLC would operate with a DBA of Asahi Sushi and would include seating for 13 in its dining area; part of the hearing notice appears to be incorrect, as Asahi Sushi moved to Brookline's Washington Square area last year and the new sign out front indeed says Blue Yama rather than Asahi.

As soon as we find out more about Blue Yama, including when it might open and what could be on its menu, we will post an update here.

The address for Blue Yama will be 418 Market Street, Brighton, MA, 02135.

[February 19 update: According to a source, Blue Yama is now open in Brighton, and its menu includes such items as lobster ramen, a lobster roll, a lobster wrap, and a lobster salad.]
