Top of the Hub Has Closed for Good

A couple of months ago, it was reported that one of the best-known restaurant in Boston would be saying goodbye in April, and with the Coronavirus outbreak and the subsequent restaurant shutdown, it was not known whether we might see the place open again. Now it looks like we won't.

According to a poster within a thread on the restaurant's Facebook page, Top of the Hub at the Prudential Center in the Back Bay will not be reopening, with a screenshot of an email from the place seeming to confirm this. The note says that the restaurant, which had been planning to close on April 18, has decided to permanently shutter and does not have plans to reopen. The original Facebook thread hints of the permanent closure, saying that "...our operations have ceased as of close of business on Monday, March 16, 2020. Please check our website for updates to this directive and our compliance. Thank you for your patronage!"

On March 17, a ruling went into place where restaurants in Massachusetts could only offer takeout and/or delivery to help stop the spread of the virus, with many restaurants temporarily closing down as a result.
