Jamaica Mi Hungry Opens Long-Term Popup Restaurant in Lower Allston

The people behind a pair of Jamaican restaurants in Jamaica Plain and Hampton Beach, NH and a food truck have opened a dining spot in an increasingly-hot section of Boston.

According to a press release, Jamaica Mi Hungry has opened a long-term popup in Lower Allston, taking over a food incubator space that has been home to Cafe Beatrice and Rabottini's Pizza. The new spot, which debuts today, will initially be offering lunch on weekdays for pickup only from its food truck outside the space, with the plan being to move into the restaurant space this fall and add takeout dinner service. Some of the items offered at the new location include coconut rice and beans, jerk chicken wraps, oxtail, sweet plantains, and more, with the release mentioning that Jamaica Mi Hungry plans to remain in the space through the end of the year.

In addition to its three restaurant locations and food truck, Jamaica Mi Hungry chef/owner Ernie Campbell also had a popup at the CommonWealth Kitchen kiosk in Cambridge's Kendall Square and has recently been managing the kitchen operations for CommonWealth Kitchen's CommonTable initiative, which helps provide meals for families in need.

The address for the new location of Jamaica Mi Hungry in Lower Allston is 182 Western Avenue, Allston, MA, 02134. The website for all locations can be found at https://www.jamaicamihungry.com/
