Sakurabana Japanese Restaurant in Boston's Financial District Has Apparently Closed for Good

It looks like a decades-old Japanese restaurant in downtown Boston has shut down permanently.

According to a tweet from @mariebmorris, Sakurabana in the city's Financial District appears to have closed its doors, with a note on the door saying, "The pandemic made it more difficult to continue the business." The Broad Street restaurant was known in part for its sushi and its quiet, laid-back atmosphere, which made it a bit of an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the downtown area.

Sakurabana first opened back in 1984.

The address for this Japanese dining spot in the Financial District was: Sakurabana, 57 Broad Street, Boston, MA, 02109.
