A long-awaited dining and drinking spot that had been hoping to open earlier this year on the North Shore is finally about ready to debut, and the people behind the place include partners from one of New Hampshire's best-known restaurants.
According to a source, The TaVern at 156 Restaurant & Bar is planning to open in Danvers for curbside pickup this Thursday (June 18), and we have been told that it has an ownership connection to Tuckaway Tavern in Raymond, a restaurant, bar, and butcher shop that is about midway between Manchester and Hampton. A Facebook post from The TaVern confirms that it is indeed opening later this week, while its website also confirms that the co-owners of Tuckaway Tavern and Butchery are among the people behind it. A full menu is not yet up for the new restaurant, but it will include a variety of burgers (which is something that Tuckaway is known for) along with steak tips, NY strip, lobster macaroni and cheese, baked stuffed shrimp, wings, a meat and cheese plate, and truffle fries.
The TaVern at 156 Restaurant & Bar will open in a strip mall just off Route 95 and Route 1 where a location of Papa Gino's used to be.
The address for this new dining and drinking spot in Danvers is: The TaVern at 156 Restaurant & Bar, 156 Andover Street, Danvers, MA, 01923. Its website can be found at https://www.tavern156.com/
[June 25 update: We have confirmed that The TaVern at 156 Restaurant & Bar is now up and running, and it is now open for indoor dining.]
