A diner in the western suburbs that was offering takeout for awhile during the restaurant shutdown appears to have closed for good.
According to multiple sources, Rox Diner in Newtonville is no longer in operation, with an earlier post from Village 14 confirming this, while a recent Facebook post from Only In Boston also confirms what some of our sources told us--that "For Lease" signs are now posted in the windows of the Walnut Street eatery. Rox Diner, which first opened in 2011, once had a connection to Rox Diner in West Roxbury, though the two restaurants split and have been under different ownership of late; another spot called Rox Cafe had been in Newton Highlands, but it closed back in 2014.
The address for this now-closed eatery in Newtonville was: Rox Diner, 335 Walnut Street, Newton, MA, 02460.
