Coolidge Market in Lower Allston Has Apparently Closed for Good

It looks like a neighborhood convenience store that was known in part for its Italian subs has closed for good.

According to a Twitter post from Henry Santoro of WGBH, Coolidge Market in Lower Allston is no longer in business, with Santoro telling us that the Coolidge Road shop was completely empty with shelves off the walls while his tweet said that it was "totally ripped apart." It isn't yet known what might become of the space at this point in time, so check back for updates as they come in.

Coolidge Market has been considered a true hidden gem over the years, hidden away in a residential area off N Harvard Street. The store featured an Italian sub that was legendary among locals and media folks alike, with Perry Eaton once saying in boston.com that "these meaty creations may not be suitable for Instagram. But one bite into the Italian sub—which is packed with heaps of cold cuts, cheese, and veggies—and you'll forget you even have a smartphone."

The address for Coolidge Market was 30 Coolidge Road, Allston, MA, 02134.
