The Asgard in Cambridge's Central Square Has Apparently Closed

Earlier today, it was reported that a longtime Irish pub in downtown Boston had closed. Now we have learned that another Irish pub in Cambridge that was under the same ownership appears to have closed as well.

According to a tweet from@geep9, The Asgard in Central Square is no longer in operation, with a note out front at the Mass. Ave. spot saying that "It is with great sadness to announce that the Asgard is not able to be a viable business during the Pandemic and is now closed." The note is nearly identical to the one now posted out front at The Kinsale Irish Pub & Restaurant at Center Plaza in Boston; we have reached out to the people behind both pubs and are waiting to hear back from them with more information, so keep checking back for updates. (Phone calls placed to The Asgard during business hours today are going unanswered.)

The Asgard first opened more than 19 years ago.

The address for The Asgard was 350 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02139.
