by CHLOE Emerges from Bankruptcy Under New Ownership, Has Six Months to Change Its Name

A few months ago, it was reported that a group of fast-casual vegan spots had declared bankruptcy, and now we have learned that the restaurants will live on under new ownership, though its name ultimately won't.

According to an article from Restaurant Hospitality, a group of investors has acquired by CHLOE for $333,000 and assumed its debt while coming up with $3.25 million in financing in order to keep the 14 locations in operation. Co-founder Chloe Coscarelli had left the company back in 2016 and has been in a legal battle over the use of her name, and the article says that the new owners will only be able to keep the "By Chloe" brand for six months at most.

by CHLOE, which opened its first shop in Manhattan's West Village in 2015, once had three locations in Boston, including in the Back Bay, Fenway, and the Seaport District, though only the Back Bay outlet is still listed on its website, which can be found at https://eatbychloe.com/
