A popular Boston breakfast place and sandwich shop that has received both local and national recognition over the years has opened a new outlet in Somerville.
According to a source (Geoff Wong), Mike & Patty's on Church Street in Bay Village has been joined by a second location at Bow Market in Union Square, with their Facebook page indicating that the new eatery in Somerville will be having a grand opening this weekend where it will be giving away 100 Classic Breakfast Sandwiches. We have been told by the people behind the place that the new storefront for Mike & Patty's will allow them to expand their hours and menu at Bow Market; previous to this, they had been selling some of their items out of Hot Box, a Bow Market spot that serves North Shore roast beef sandwiches and South Shore bar pizza and which is under the same ownership.
Mike & Patty's first opened in Bay Village in 2008, and as mentioned here earlier, the place has been featured on TV Diner and Chronicle and included in Boston Magazine's Best of Boston in both 2012 and 2014--and Yahoo and Thrillist had it on their "short list" of Best Breakfast Sandwiches in the United States for 2015.
