Punch Bowl Is Opening in Brookline

A brand new tavern is on its way to Brookline, and the owners of a nearby Italian restaurant and a dining spot in an historic former inn are behind the place.

According to its website, Punch Bowl will be opening in the lobby of the new Hilton Garden Inn on Brookline Avenue in Brookline Village, with Jen and Josh Ziskin operating what is described as a "modern city tavern." The site mentions that the upcoming dining and drinking spot is "Inspired by the historic 18th century tavern that Brookline was once famous for" and that "the Ziskins aim to rekindle the spirit of the Punch Bowl and recreate a communal gathering place in the heart of the village." Expect to see modern takes on traditional New England dishes at Punch Bowl, along with an array of cocktails that will be "influenced by Brookline's unique history and vibrant location." We have been told that the new spot will also have a large outdoor space and that if all goes as planned, it will open sometime in April.

In addition to Punch Bowl, the Ziskins are also behind La Morra on Route 9 in Brookline and Heritage of Sherborn in the center that town.

The address for Punch Bowl (and the Hilton Garden Inn) is 700 Brookline Avenue, Brookline, MA, 02446. The website for the tavern can be found at https://www.punchbowlbrookline.com/

[April 15 update: According to a press release, Punch Bowl is now open and that in addition to its dining room/bar area in the lobby and its outdoor seating along River Road, the restaurant also has casual lounge seating on the third floor terrace as well.]
