Bar Cicchetti to Open in Boston; Chef Fabio Viviani Behind the Restaurant

It looks like a celebrity chef is bringing one of his restaurants to Boston.

According to a poster within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, Chef Fabio Viviani is opening Bar Cicchetti somewhere in the city, and based on the outlet of the dining spot in Oklahoma City, it will focus on Mediterranean fare (including both small and large plates) along with beer and cocktails. A Facebook post from the place mentions that it will be coming to Boston "very soon," showing a picture of Calabrian Chili Orecchiette with Clams, Vino Bianco, Olive Oil, Garlic, Butter, Parsley, and Basil.

Chef Viviani is a restaurateur, TV host, and cookbook author who is known in part for his appearance on Top Chef in 2008.

The website for the Oklahoma City location of Bar Cicchetti is at http://www.barcicchettiok.com/ while the website for Chef Viviani is at https://www.fabioviviani.com/main/fabio-viviani.php

[December 23 update: The website for Bar Cicchetti states that its address is 54 Devonshire Street, which indicates that it will apparently be located within the Hyatt Centric Faneuil Hall.]

[May 6, 2022 update: According to a source, a sign is now up for Bar Cicchetti, and it will be taking over the former Bar Mercato space.]
