Ten Second Yunnan Rice Noodle Is Opening in the Former China King Space in Boston's Chinatown

A new restaurant featuring Chinese noodles is on its way to downtown Boston, replacing a highly-rated Chinese spot that is looking for a new home.

According to a source (Geoff Wong), Ten Second Yunnan Rice Noodle is opening in Chinatown, moving into the space on Beach Street where China King had been. A picture of the sign for the eatery looks somewhat similar to a restaurant in the Wollaston section of Quincy called Shi Miao Dao, though it has not been confirmed that there is a connection between the two; as soon as we find out more, we will post an update here. While a menu for Ten Second Yunnan Rice Noodle has not been seen yet, the Yunnan province of China--which is in the southwest corner of the country--is known in part for its "crossing-the-bridge noodles," which is a rice noodle soup that can be found in a few Boston-area restaurants including Shi Miao Dao along with Wen's in the Back Bay and downtown Boston.

China King, which closed down around the beginning of the year, was well-known among locals in the Chinatown neighborhood and was also a bit of a haunt for chefs and food writers for its Peking duck, dumplings, and noodle dishes; at the time of its closing, it appeared that the dining spot could end up reopening in another part of Boston or Cambridge, though no news has been given of late.

The address for Ten Second Yunnan Rice Noodle is 60 Beach Street, Boston, MA, 02111.

[June 16 update: A tweet from @FortPointer indicates that Ten Second Yunnan Rice Noodle is now open.]
