Judy's Bay Is Opening in the Bondir Space in Cambridge; Bondir Plans to Move to New Space

The people behind a pop-up business that focuses on "Asian-inspired" BBQ dishes are planning to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Cambridge, and it would be moving into the space where a farm-to-table spot currently resides--and which plans to move to a new spot.

According to a Cambridge License Commission page, Judy's Bay is looking to open on Broadway in the Bondir space, with a message sent to us indicating that Bondir is planning to open in a larger (and as-of-yet undisclosed) space. The new eatery is seeking a full liquor license for the space, which would have seating for 28 inside and another 12 on an outdoor patio, and although the pop-up features such options as ribs, pulled pork, and other barbecue items with Asian influences, Cambridge Day mentions that Judy's Bay might be more of a Japanese tapas bar.

The address for Bondir (and the new brick-and-mortar location of Judy's Bay) is 279A Broadway, Cambridge, MA, 02139.

[July 14 update: A Facebook post from Bondir states that it is indeed saying farewell to its old space, as it is going to "pass the keys" to Judy's Bay while also saying that "it's time for us to continue on." (It isn't yet known where Bondir might be moving.]

[November 11 update: According to a source, Judy's Bay opens today, with a boston.com article saying that it is open for takeout only for now, with dine-in probably debuting sometime next month; the article also mentions that the restaurant features New England seafood dishes with Japanese and East Asian influences.]
