The Gallows in Boston’s South End Has Closed

A popular Boston gastropub has shut down for good.

According to Patrick Maguire of Maguire Promotions & Hospitality Consulting, The Gallows in the South End has closed permanently, with an Instagram post from the Washington Street spot confirming this, saying that "The Gallows will always be my first baby + I will forever be grateful. May its memory be a blessing." The place first opened in 2010, offering comfort food along with an array of beer, wine, and cocktails; the group behind The Gallows also runs Blackbird Doughnuts, Banyan Bar & Refuge, and Sally's Sandwiches, and they had been planning to open another Gallows at the Arsenal Yards in Watertown, though it is not known if those plans are still in the works.

The address for The Gallows was 1395 Washington Street, Boston, MA, 02118.
