A coffee shop and cafe in Cambridge with roots in a Central African country has closed after ten years in business.
According to a couple of sources, including journalist and photographer Tom Meek, Bourbon Coffee in the Porter Exchange building on Mass. Ave. in Porter Square is no longer in business, with a sign out front confirming its closure while the space also appears to be cleared out. The cafe, which first opened in late 2011, featured coffee from Rwanda (where the business was first established) along with pastries, baked goods, tea, hot chocolate, and more. Another location of Bourbon Coffee resides in the North Station/West End section of Boston, though it appears to be temporarily closed; as soon as we find out the exact status of that outlet, we will post an update here. (Three other locations can be found in the Washington, DC, area.)
The address for the now-closed location of Bourbon Coffee in the Porter Exchange was 1815 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02140. The website for the business is at https://bourboncoffeeusa.com/
