The Boiling Crab to Open in Cambridge's Harvard Square

A chain of seafood restaurants whose roots are in Southeast Texas will be opening its first New England location in a well-known space in Cambridge.

According to a source, The Boiling Crab is planning to open in Harvard Square, moving into the historic Hyde-Taylor House on Winthrop Street that had been home to the Hasty Pudding Institute for several years, and was also home to a location of House of Blues as well. A Cambridge Day article mentions that the upcoming spot will have seating for as many as 218 people and could be opening in December after extensive renovations, with menu items including a variety of crab dishes along with catfish, oysters, shrimp, and more.

The website for The Boiling Crab mentions that it got its start in Seadrift, Texas, and now has locations in Texas, California, Washington, DC, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, and overseas.

The address for the upcoming location of The Boiling Crab in Harvard Square is 96 Winthrop Street, Cambridge, MA, 02138. The website for the chain can be found at https://theboilingcrab.com/
