A sandwich shop in Boston's South End is expanding across the river.
According to a source (Geoff Wong), Sally's Sandwiches is planning to open within Harvard University's Smith Campus Center on Mass. Ave. in Cambridge, joining another spot from the team behind it (Blackbird Doughnuts). A Facebook post from Sally's shows a picture of the space while saying that it "may not look like much, but the tile is up in our next shop! We hope to open this September (waiting on a gas hook up) with our BFF @blackbirddoughnuts in a new location at @harvard Smith Campus Center."
The original Sally's Sandwiches first opened in the summer of 2019 on Tremont Street in the South End next to the original location of Blackbird Doughnuts. The group behind Sally's and Blackbird Doughnuts also run Banyan Bar + Refuge in the South End along with other locations of Blackbird in Beacon Hill, Brighton, and Newton Centre.
