Singh's Dhaba Is Opening in Cambridge; Team Behind Now-Closed Bapu G's in Foxboro Opening the Place

Last month it was reported that an Indian restaurant southwest of Boston had closed. Now we have learned that the people behind it will be opening a new dining spot in Cambridge.

According to a tweet from @JeremyKrantz, Singh's Dhaba is planning to open on Mass. Ave. between Harvard Square and Central Square, with a Facebook post from the now-closed Bapu G's in Foxboro saying "Attention Bapu G's friends and family. We are proud to announce our new venture. Stay tuned for more details!" while also showing an image with the restaurant's name and address. An Instagram post from Singh's Dhaba indicates that it will feature Indian lunch plates, using the words "Tiffin" and "Thali" ("Tiffin" generally refers to lunch while "Thali" refers to a plate); the website is under construction, but once it is up and running, we will give more details about the upcoming place.

Bapu G's closed down just before Christmas after approximately three years in business, with the restaurant being known in part for its kebabs.

The address for Singh's Dhaba is 1001 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02138. Its website will be at http://singhsdhaba.com/

[April 8 update: The website for the place indicates that Singh's Dhaba is now open in Cambridge.]
