A new restaurant is on its way to the South Shore, opening in the space where a location of an Irish pub had been.
According to an article in the Cohasset Mariner and Wicked Local, The Blue Oar is planning to open in Cohasset, moving into a space on Depot Court in the center of town that had been home to Mr. Dooley's. The article mentions that Richard and Tracey Vaughan (The Jetty in Brant Rock, Nantasket Flatts in Hull) are behind the new spot, which will be a casual restaurant with a nautical theme and options such as soups, salads, burgers and other sandwiches, entrees (no specifics were given), craft cocktails, and more. If all goes as planned, The Blue Oar could be opening in late February.
Mr. Dooley's closed down last March after being in business for ten years; another location in downtown Boston is still in operation.
The address for The Blue Oar is 9 Depot Court, Cohasset, MA, 02025.
[April 5 update: The Cohasset Anchor states that The Blue Oar is now open.]
