A new restaurant may be on its way to a section of Boston that has relatively few full-service options for dining and drinking, and it would be moving into a space that was going to be home to a barbecue spot until those plans fell through.
According to an article from Universal Hub, El Punto Restaurant & Lounge is looking to open on Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester between Franklin Park and Harambee Park, with the space including a function room. The post says that the 240-seat spot would offer Dominican and Spanish food and hopes to have a full bar if it can acquire a liquor license.
An earlier article here stated that Royalty Iron Grill had been looking to open within the space back in 2018, but those plans never came to fruition.
The address for the proposed El Punto Restaurant & Lounge in Dorchester is 879-881 Blue Hill Avenue, Dorchester, MA, 02119.
