The people behind an award-winning Thai restaurant are making plans to open another dining spot.
According to an article from Eater Boston, Mahaniyom in Brookline Village is going to be joined by a nearby restaurant called Merai, which means "alcohol" in Thai and which Mahaniyom co-owner Chompon Boonnak indicates will be "more playful" and with fusion cuisine being at least part of the focus. No address has been given for Merai as of yet, nor has a menu been seen, so stay tuned for updates as they come in. (The dining spot hopes to open in the late fall.)
Mahaniyom, which opened in early 2020, has received high praise over the past couple of years, including from Eater, The Boston Globe, and Boston Magazine.
