Verveine Cafe & Bakery Plans to Open in Cambridge; Ken Oringer and Monica Glass Are Behind It

A brand new Parisian-style dining spot is on its way to Cambridge, and a couple of well-known names are behind it.

The Boston Globe is reporting that Verveine Cafe & Bakery is planning to open in a space on Mass. Ave. between Central Square and MIT, and that Ken Oringer (Coppa, Faccia a Faccia, Little Donkey, Toro) and Monica Glass (Clio, Gotham Bar & Grill, Le Bernardin) are teaming up to open it. The article mentions that the upcoming eatery will offer such items as cream biscuits with maple pepper bacon and scrambled eggs, kimchi egg danish, and fried strawberry chamomile doughnuts, and the hope is that it will open sometime this fall.

As mentioned by the Globe, Glass worked alongside Oringer at Clio, which shut down at the end of 2015.

The address for the upcoming Verveine Cafe & Bakery is 298 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02139.

[May 2, 2024 update: The Boston Globe mentions that Verveine Cafe & Bakery opens on May 6.]
