John Brewer's Tavern in Malden Is Closing

It looks like a pair of Boston-area alehouses will soon be down to just one.

According to a source, John Brewer's Tavern in Malden is shutting down, with multiple posters on social media also saying this--and a few mentioning that tonight will be its last night. It does appear that the Waltham location of the dining and drinking spot will remain in operation, while the people behind the two taverns also run Offshore Ale Company in Oak Bluffs. (They also ran Brewer's Coalition in Newtonville, but that closed early last year.)

The Malden location of John Brewer's Tavern has been known for its comfort food and pub grub along with a wide variety of beers, and it also had a large patio out front.

The address for John Brewer's Tavern in Malden is 7 Highland Avenue, Malden, MA, 02148. The website for the business is at https://www.johnbrewerstavern.com/
