According to a licensing board hearing page within the city's website, the Chemist is planning to open by the corner of High Street and Congress Street in the Financial District, moving into the Slate Bar & Grill space. More information on the Chemist will likely be given soon, as the meeting is slated to take place on August 16, so keep checking back for updates.

The address for Slate Bar & Grill (and the Chemist) is 109 High Street, Boston, MA,  02110. The website for the Chemist is at

[December 4 update: According to a source, the Chemist is now open, with its exact name being the Chemist Cocktail Club, and its menu includes such food options as burgers, wings, cheese and charcuterie boards, calamari, fish and chips, flatbreads, braised octopus, and cheesecake, along with beer, wine, and cocktails.]
