Late last year, it was reported that a restaurant in Boston's Chinatown neighborhood had quietly shut down, and now we have learned that a new dining spot is taking over the space.
According to a poster (Geoff Wong) within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, a sign is now up for Fuchunju at the former Gourmet China House space on Beach Street. Based on its name, the upcoming eatery will also be a Chinese restaurant though there is currently little information on the upcoming space, so stay tuned for any updates that come in.
Gourmet China House first opened in 2016, offered a mix of authentic Chinese and Chinese-American fare until closing down in late November of 2022.
The address for Fuchunju in Chinatown is 55 Beach Street, Boston, MA, 02111.
[February 19, 2024 update: Geoff Wong posts in the Facebook group that Fuchunju is now open, and it looks like the place offers such items as pork buns, soup dumplings, noodle dishes, spring rolls, spareribs, and more.]
