Rina's in Boston's North End Has Closed; New Concept on Its Way to the Space

A North End dining spot known for its pizza has shut down, though it looks like a new concept may be opening in its space.

According to a source (Geoff Wong), Rina's on Hanover Street is no longer in business, with an Instagram post from the place saying late last week that "We said goodbye to Rina's Pizzeria, but will be saying hello to something new and exciting soon! Stay tuned!" Rina's, which first opened in 2015, was owned by Nick Varano, who also is behind Strega North End Nico, and Fratelli, and it is presumed that Varano will also be behind whatever new concept comes to the space.

The address for the now-closed Rina's in the North End is 371 Hanover Street, Boston, MA, 02113.

[August 1 update: According to a source, the restaurant replacing Rina's will be called My Mother's Cutlets, with signs for the upcoming spot in the windows being out front, and it looks like it will be a fast-casual restaurant from The Varano Group though no specifics have been given on the place as of yet.]
