Esmai's Cafe & Restaurant Replaces Hops N Scotch in Brookline

A Brookline tavern known in part for its whiskey options has morphed into a new restaurant.

According to a series of Twitter/X posts from @Lin_Dolin, Hops N Scotch in Brookline is now Esmai's Cafe & Restaurant, with a note within the website of the new eatery saying the following:

When owners David and Mai decided to re-conceptualize Hops & Scotch, Brookline’s beloved destination for killer brews and near-impossible-to-find whiskies, they knew they needed something greater than the sum of its parts. Mai's decades of experience cooking dishes of her Vietnamese heritage, coupled with David's passion for Scotch and American whiskey were great places to start. Named after David and Mai's daughter, Esmai, the restaurant embodies the love they have for their children, community, and instilling joy through cooking. Whether you're looking to cozy up with some sliders and a beer, keep things light with a sandwich made with fluffy, delectable Japanese milk bread, or embrace your adventurous side with a craft cocktail, Esmai's has something to satisfy every craving.

Hops N Scotch first opened in 2012, offering a variety of bourbon, rye, and scotch options along with a number of craft beers on tap, while also serving mostly comfort food dishes.

The address for Esmai's Cafe & Restaurant (and the former Hops N Scotch) is 1306 Beacon Street, Brookline, MA, 02446. The website for the new restaurant is at https://www.esmaisbrookline.com/
