A new French dining spot is on its way to Somerville, replacing a French bakery that is under the same ownership.
The Boston Globe is reporting that Café Saint Germain is going to be opening on Beacon Street, taking over the PRB Boulangerie space, and owner owner Loic Le Garrec indicates that the change in concept is being made because another PRB Boulangerie is located not too far away in the Kendall Square section of Cambridge. Once it opens (slated for January 30), the new eatery will be open for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, and it will also have a full liquor license.
In addition to the upcoming Café Saint Germain and Kendall's PRB Boulangerie, Loic Le Garrec also runs Batifol in Kendall Square, another PRB Boulangerie in Boston's South End, and Petit Robert Bistro, also in the South End. (He was also behind the recently-closed Marseille in the South End as well.)
The address for the upcoming Café Saint Germain is 118 Beacon Street, Somerville, MA, 02143. Its Instagram page is at https://www.instagram.com/cafe.saint.germain/
