Michette to Open a New Location in Cambridge

It looks like a bakery in East Somerville is expanding to a space in Cambridge.

A message sent by Leah Klein of City Living Boston (via a Facebook post from Somerville City Councilor Ben Ewen-Campen) mentions that Michette on Broadway is planning to open just outside of Inman Square, moving into a space on Webster Avenue by the Cambridge/Somerville line. It appears that this will be a second location of the business, and based on the original, the new shop could offer such items as breads, croissants, cookies, sandwiches, coffee, and more.

Michette debuted in East Somerville in 2023.

It appears that the address for the upcoming location of Michette is 305 Webster Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02141.

Gâté Comme Des Filles at Somerville's Bow Market to Move to Cambridge's Inman Square, Becoming Part of Zuzu's Petals

A chocolate shop in Somerville is moving to Cambridge, becoming part of a wine and dessert bar that has an ownership connection.

According to a Bluesky post from @troysch1, Gâté Comme Des Filles at Bow Market is moving into the Zuzu's Petals space on Hampshire Street in Inman Square, with a note on the shop's website confirming this, saying "we're moving! opening soon at: Zuzu's Petals." Alexandra Whisnant, who is behind Gâté Comme Des Filles, is also one of the owners of Zuzu's Petals along with Robert MacLean, Jr., who was behind the now-closed Picnic & Pantry food market at Bow Market.

Christina's Spice and Specialty Foods in Cambridge's Inman Square Has Moved

Last year we reported that the people behind an ice cream shop and specialty food/spice store in Cambridge's Inman Square were looking to open a baking annex. Now we have learned that they have actually moved their food/spice store into that space.

According to posters within the Chowhound site, Christina's Spice & Specialty Foods has moved from 1261 Cambridge Street to 1297 Cambridge Street, with their ice cream shop remaining at 1255 Cambridge Street. It is not known at this point in time if they will eventually include the proposed baking annex within the new space or whether those plans have fallen through (we will post an update as soon as we find out).

Christina's Baking Annex May Be Coming to Cambridge's Inman Square

The folks behind an ice cream shop and specialty food store in Cambridge may be adding onto their business, with an expansion coming to a nearby space.

According to a post in the Cambriville Connects blog, the people who run Christina's Homemade Ice Cream and Christina's Spice & Specialty Foods in Inman Square are planning to open Christina's Baking Annex, which will apparently be a few doors down from the two shops, taking over the space where Oona's Outpost had been. A post on Christina's Facebook page confirms this, with the following note shown: "Coming soon ... Christina's Baking Annex ... Purveyor of quality Pastry and Confectionary Ingredients."

No other information has been given on the new annex; as soon as we find out more, we will post an update here.
